What is the African and Caribbean Society?
Our Aims and Goals |
Our mission at Leeds University
ACS is to make our members more professionally and socially aware of themselves
and the image they portray to the world. We want to challenge negative
stereotypes and break boundaries for our members and this begins with internal
evaluations of ourselves through debates and culturally relevant talks and
events. ACS is the place for fun, growth and family.
The University of Leeds African and Caribbean Society (ACS) is a well-established and greatly respected society. Ours is the umbrella society, which possesses members from over 60 countries, who bring with them a wealth of new traditions, knowledge and experiences. ACS takes pride in educating, whilst celebrating, the African and Caribbean culture and history that many learn in school but never truly engage with.
